JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Public Works is preparing housing for civil servants in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, as a supporting facility to accelerate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of infrastructure after the disaster.
The housing is built with a modular concept and equipped with various supporting facilities for field operations.
Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo said that the housing is prepared to support the ranks of the Ministry of Public Works who are tasked with disaster management and accelerating infrastructure development.
The construction of the housing is carried out through the Aceh Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Work Unit under the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works.
During the inspection, Dody was accompanied by the Head of the Task Force for Accelerating Emergency Response, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction After the Disaster in Sumatra, Arie Setiadi Moerwanto, and the Secretary of the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure, Essy Asiah.
The housing for civil servants in Aceh Tamiang has a capacity of 84 people, while the housing in Langsa City accommodates 36 people.
The available facilities include dormitory and office buildings equipped with bedrooms, workspaces, meeting rooms, a pantry, sanitation, a prayer room, and other supporting facilities.
According to Dody, the provision of housing is part of strengthening logistical support so that personnel on duty can work optimally.
“We want to ensure that all personnel on duty, especially in the field of disaster management, can work to the maximum. This facility support is important so that coordination and response in the field are even more effective,” he said.
The housing is built in a strategic location to support the mobility of personnel in carrying out their duties of supervision and accelerating infrastructure development, especially in the Aceh region and its surroundings.
