The presence of investment in the industrial zone will drive economic growth and open up employment opportunities for the people of Majalengka. This was stated by Majalengka Regent Eman Suherman during the groundbreaking of the industrial facility construction at the Kertajati International Industrial Estate Majalengka (KIEM) on Wednesday (1/4). “The presence of investment in this industrial zone is an important momentum in driving regional economic growth and opening up employment opportunities for the people of Majalengka,” he said. For this reason, the Majalengka Regency Government welcomes and provides full support for the development of industrial facilities at KIEM. “This is a strategic step in increasing regional competitiveness and accelerating economic growth,” Eman continued. He added that the development of the industrial zone in Kertajati aligns with the local government’s vision of making Majalengka a centre for new economic growth in the West Java region, particularly in the Rebana area. The existence of KIEM will not only attract large-scale investment but also provide positive impacts on other sectors, such as SMEs, services, and supporting infrastructure. “We hope that the incoming investments can provide broad benefits, especially in absorbing local labour and improving community welfare,” he added. Eman also assured that the local government will provide ease and certainty for investors investing in Majalengka Regency, including in terms of permitting and infrastructure support. “We are committed to creating a conducive, safe, and sustainable investment climate, so that investors feel comfortable in placing their capital in Majalengka,” he emphasised. The laying of the first stone for the industrial facility at KIEM marks the start of construction that is expected to strengthen Majalengka’s position as one of the leading industrial zones in West Java.
