Police and Jasa Marga continue to implement traffic engineering in the form of a contraflow scheme to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) during Eid or on Saturday (21/3). Previously, contraflow was only applied in one lane, but it has now been increased to two lanes due to the continuously rising number of vehicles passing through. “The current traffic engineering scheme applies contraflow from KM 47 to KM 55 towards Cikampek in one lane. Subsequently, contraflow continues from KM 55 to KM 70 towards Cikampek with a two-lane scheme at 13:55 WIB to help ease the traffic density heading east,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in her statement. Ria stated that this traffic engineering implementation is an effort to maintain smooth vehicle flow and ensure the safety of toll road users. “The implementation of the contraflow traffic engineering is carried out situationally based on police discretion, considering the on-site traffic conditions,” she added. “JTT, together with relevant stakeholders, continues to conduct intensive monitoring to ensure that vehicle flow remains controlled and that users’ journeys proceed safely and smoothly,” she continued. Furthermore, JTT continues to urge all Trans Java toll road users to always prioritise safety while driving.
