PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) is deploying 2,500 workers from Java Island to various People’s School (SR) projects in Kalimantan and Sulawesi. This step is intended to accelerate the construction of the People’s Schools. The company’s Corporate Secretary, Dian Sovana, stated that the mobilisation of manpower is part of the strategy to speed up the projects amid the significant resource needs on the ground. In particular, up to 600 workers are required at a single construction site. She explained that the acceleration of construction focuses not only on meeting time targets but also prioritises construction quality and occupational safety aspects. This is achieved through strengthened project management, enhanced technical supervision, and the implementation of occupational safety and health (K3) standards discipline across all project sites. On the ground, the company is instilling a collaborative work culture without barriers between workers, foremen, engineers, and project leaders. In certain conditions, the entire team gets directly involved to maintain progress while ensuring collective safety. Various challenges such as extreme weather, terrain conditions, and logistical limitations are part of the project dynamics. However, these are addressed with a commitment to maintaining quality, timeliness, and worker safety. “The dedication and hard work of the workers are the main keys behind every progress in the People’s School construction,” said Dian. Through this acceleration, Brantas Abipraya hopes that the People’s School construction can be completed soon, providing more equitable educational access for communities in various regions. “This People’s School project is not just about physical construction but also a long-term investment in producing Indonesia’s superior generations. We are committed to rushing the completion of this project,” she added. One of the project workers who migrated from Lamongan, Budi, expressed pride in being involved in the People’s School project despite having to be away from his family for a while.
