To Accelerate Asset Recovery, Prosecutor's Office Targets Rp 2 Trillion for State Coffers via BPA Fair 2026

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office’s Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) has initiated proactive steps to transform the mechanism for managing confiscated state assets through the Pre-Event BPA Fair 2026 held at the Gelora Bung Karno complex on Sunday (10/5/2026). This effort manifests the institution’s transparency in accelerating the return of financial losses to the state and the rights of victims of criminal acts. The Head of BPA at the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office, Kuntadi, emphasised that openness regarding the status of seized assets is the key to optimising their sale value. “We realise there is still a disconnect between the existence of BPA and public understanding. Through this forum, we are opening ourselves so that the public understands that asset recovery is a crucial instrument in complete law enforcement,” said Kuntadi. The Head of the BPA Finance Bureau, Baringin, projected that auction transaction values could reach Rp 100 billion during the event. On a macro level, BPA is targeting a fantastic figure for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) in 2026. “Our expectation is that asset recovery can exceed Rp 2 trillion to be redistributed to the state coffers through the PNBP channel,” revealed Baringin. The BPA Fair 2026 is an integrative collaboration between the Indonesian Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Finance through the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN), fully supported by the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara), which includes Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank BRI, and Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The assets offered in the upcoming auction include those with final legal force (inkracht), ranging from immovable assets such as land and houses to movable assets like motor vehicles, jewellery, and other luxury goods.
