TNI Withdraws Security Detail for Former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah Following Suspect Status
Jakarta, VIVA – The naming of former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah as a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case has brought further consequences.
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) have confirmed that the close protection previously afforded to Febrie has been terminated. Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen), Major General Muhammad Nas, stressed that no TNI personnel are currently assigned to guard Febrie as they were when he still served as Jampidsus.
“I want to emphasise, there is no close protection,” Muhammad Nas told reporters, quoted on Tuesday, 14 July 2026.
A similar statement was made by the Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum), Anang Supriatna. According to him, the TNI protection was provided because of the position Febrie held as Jampidsus, and thus ended when that position ended.
“That’s right, there is no longer any (TNI protection). Because the TNI protection was attached to the position. After that, there is none,” Anang said.
As previously reported, Febrie Adriansyah’s house in the Jalan Radio area of South Jakarta received tight guarding from TNI personnel on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.
The guarding drew attention because it took place amid searches conducted by joint investigators from the National Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Task Force (Kortas Tipidkor) and the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police at several locations related to the investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering.
In response, the Head of the TNI Information Centre asserted that the security provided to the Jampidsus’s residence was carried out upon an official request from the Attorney General’s Office and had followed the applicable mechanism.
“Regarding the security for the Jampidsus, it is true that the protection was provided at the request of the prosecutor’s office institution and was coordinated in accordance with the mechanisms and regulations in force, as per Presidential Regulation Number 66 of 2025 concerning the protection of prosecutors in carrying out their duties. The security was not related to any other issues currently circulating,” said TNI Information Centre Chief Brigadier General Muhammad Nas on Thursday, 9 July 2026.
