Commander of the TNI Military Police Centre (Danpuspom), Major General Yusri Nuryanto, has confirmed that his team is still delving into the possibility of orders from superiors or the motives behind the attack on an activist. The investigation is being conducted through the gradual collection of evidence and witness testimonies. “Regarding who gave the orders, we will delve into that later. It requires gathering witnesses and the available evidence,” said Yusri. He emphasised that the investigation process will not stop at the field perpetrators but will also explore further if there are indications of involvement by other parties. Regarding the motive for the attack, Yusri stated that they cannot yet conclude whether it is related to the victim’s frequent criticism of the defence sector. According to him, that aspect is still part of the ongoing investigation. “The issue of motive and motivation is the same. So we ask for patience,” he said. Furthermore, Yusri stressed that the legal process within the TNI will proceed professionally and transparently. He assured that there will be no attempts to cover up the case. “Regarding the transparency of the investigation, the TNI Military Police Centre will work professionally. We will report the stages, from investigation, filing, to submission of the file to the Military Prosecutor,” he explained. He added that the public will continue to receive information on case developments, including when it enters the trial stage. “Trust us, we will act professionally and transparently. At every stage, we will also continue to invite media colleagues,” Yusri concluded.
