TNI Tests Tri-Service Interoperability in Integrated Exercise in Lingga

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has conducted an integrated tri-service exercise in Lingga Regency, Riau Islands (Kepri), to test the interoperability of personnel and primary weapon systems (alutsista) in joint operations. Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen) Brigadier General Muhammad Nas stated that the exercise involved elements from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, prioritising integrated operational capabilities across the services. “This exercise is an integrated tri-service TNI drill. We want to show that the TNI is ready with the personnel and alutsista provided to us. What we want to demonstrate is the interoperability of the three services,” he said in Lingga on Tuesday. He explained that the exercise tested the readiness of personnel and equipment to carry out operations in an integrated manner. “The exercise also aims to ensure that the TNI Commander can execute effective command and control down to the lowest units,” he added. A Key Disembarkation Point (KDOL) consisting of 13 personnel from the Denmatra 2 of the Rapid Reaction Force Corps (Korpasgat) and 12 personnel from Infantry Battalion 328 was deployed to secure the target area, mark landing zones, conduct terrain observation, and provide information on the area’s condition and enemy situation before the main force’s arrival. This phase integrated the capabilities of a CN-235 transport aircraft from Air Squadron 27 Biak, Korpasgat, and Infantry Battalion 328 as part of the TNI’s joint operations capability test. The exercise was directly observed by TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, accompanied by Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal M. Tonny Harjono. “We want to show that the TNI is professional with the personnel and material it possesses, and is ready to carry out its mandate according to the law, both in Military Operations for War and Military Operations Other Than War, including securing the outermost and remote regions of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said. He explained that in addition to involving all land, sea, and air forces, the series of exercises also included Military Operations Other Than War (OMSP) in the form of social and community service activities involving more than 12,000 personnel. Through this exercise, the TNI hopes that interoperability between the services will be further strengthened so that joint operations can be carried out more effectively in facing various threats and supporting national defence readiness.
