The case file regarding the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus by four soldiers has been officially transferred from the Military Audit Office II-07 Jakarta to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta. The TNI has assured that the trial for this case will be held openly at the Military Court.

“We can see that the trial will be conducted professionally. We will also be open in conveying it; later, media friends can attend directly,” said TNI’s Head of Information, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, after attending the KWP Awards event at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4/2026).

He emphasised that the number of suspects in this case remains unchanged. It is known that the Advocacy Team for Democracy (TAUD) identified 16 unidentified persons (OTK) suspected of being involved in the case.

“Four people, still four people,” he stated.

“We still charge them according to the investigation results: four people,” added Major General Aulia.

He also responded to the reason why the faces of the four perpetrators have not yet been shown to the public. According to him, the public can directly see the faces of the perpetrators during the trial.

“I think it will be visible later; at the trial, they will also be presented, and this will be done. Once again, it will be open, and we will be professional,” he said.

Furthermore, he stated that the alleged motive for the acid attack is a personal matter. However, he said that all facts will be revealed clearly during the trial.

“I think once the motive is explained that it is personal, we will see it at the open trial; everyone can see it, it will be explained there at the trial,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, regarding the many requests for this case to be tried in a civilian court, Aulia emphasised that the legal process will still be carried out at the Military Court. This is because all the suspects are active soldiers.

“Our court remains in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. It is conducted at the Military Court,” he said.

“Because the perpetrators are all active members,” he added.

Previously, the Military Court II-08 Jakarta received the transfer of the case file for the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. The first trial will be held on 29 April.

“The Military Court II-08 Jakarta has received the transfer of the case file from the Military Audit Office II-07 Jakarta. The case that is already known is the alleged acid attack carried out by four suspects who will now become defendants entering the trial,” said the Head of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Colonel Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, at the Military Court II-08, East Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4/2026).

Fredy stated that there are four defendants in this case. All four are members of the TNI Denma Bais from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches.

“From those four people: Captain NDP, then First Lieutenant BHW, then First Lieutenant SL, and Sergeant Second Class ES,” he said.
