TNI Speaks Out on Security at Deputy Attorney General's Residence

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has spoken out regarding reports that its soldiers are guarding the South Jakarta residence of Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah. Head of the TNI Information Centre (Puspen), Brigadier General Muhammad Nas, explained the reason for the security detail. “Regarding the security for the Jampidsus, it is true that the security was carried out at the request of the prosecutor’s office and has been coordinated according to applicable mechanisms and regulations,” Brigadier General Muhammad Nas said when contacted on Thursday (9/7). According to Brigadier General Muhammad Nas, the regulation in question is Presidential Regulation Number 66 of 2025, which concerns the protection of prosecutors in carrying out their duties. The security measure is not related to any other developing issues. He stated that the security is not connected to other matters, including the aftermath of a search conducted by the Metro Jaya Regional Police the previous day. He said that matter is not within the TNI’s authority. “The security is not related to other developing issues. As for information regarding a search by the Police at several locations, that is a separate process and falls under the authority of the Police,” he clarified. Previously, several media outlets reported on Wednesday (8/7) evening that Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah’s house was under tight guard by the TNI. However, there has been no explanation from the Attorney General’s Office regarding the reason for the security at the residence in South Jakarta.
