TNI Soldier Who Brandished a Pistol at Online Taxi Driver in Tangsel Arrested by Denpom
TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – A TNI soldier who brandished a pistol at an online taxi driver (taksol) on Jalan Raya Puspiptek, Setu, South Tangerang, is currently being questioned by the Military Police Detachment (Denpom).
The commander of the 0510/Tigaraksa District Military Command, Lieutenant Colonel Yudho Setyono, confirmed the involvement of a personnel with the initials Peltu A in the alleged assault.
Video of the incident had previously gone viral on social media. The case is now being handled by the Military Police for further investigation.
The commander stated that the soldier is an active member serving in his unit.
“Indeed there is an individual from within the ranks involved in the assault,” he said in Tangerang on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, quoted from Antara.
According to Yudho, after a report of the alleged assault, Peltu A has been secured by the Military Police to undergo questioning.
“He is currently under the handling of POM (Polisi Militer),” he said.
The head of criminal investigation at the South Tangerang Police, AKP Wira Graha Setiawan, said the report was received on Monday, 2 March 2026.
“Indeed, there was a report lodged with the South Tangerang Police on Monday, 2 March 2026. From the report, we conducted an investigation by questioning the victim and the reporting party,” Wira said.
The incident is believed to have started with a minor collision between two vehicles on Jalan Raya Puspiptek, Setu District. The ensuing dispute allegedly escalated to acts of violence.
Wira noted that several pieces of evidence including video recordings are still being studied by investigators. The suspect has been handed over to Denpom Jaya for further proceedings.
“Several pieces of evidence and the circulating video are still being examined, and the suspected perpetrator has been handed over to the Denpom Jaya unit for further processing,” he said.
To date, the investigation into the soldier remains within the Military Police domain.
