A soldier from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) named Arif Budi Sampurna has become the victim of a murder on Jalan Raya Pondok Hijau Golf, Kelapa Dua, Tangerang Regency. Police launched an investigation and arrested the alleged perpetrators.

“The South Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit has successfully uncovered a criminal homicide case involving a man believed to be an Indonesian Army personnel member,” said South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Boy Jumalolo when contacted on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

The case was uncovered under the leadership of South Tangerang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Wira Graha Setiawan, together with Kelapa Dua Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Rovi. The case began with the discovery of a man lying on the side of the road on Sunday (19/7) at approximately 5.45 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

“Based on the results of the crime scene investigation, the victim sustained several wounds from a sharp object and was pronounced dead,” he explained.

A joint team immediately moved to conduct an investigation and process the crime scene. In less than 24 hours, officers successfully identified and arrested four suspects in several locations not far from the scene.

“The four suspects, with the initials BR, RRGB, MKN, and H, committed violence against the victim,” he added.

Boy has not yet detailed the exact motive for the murder. The police are currently conducting a series of further investigations.
