TNI Reveals Four Suspect Soldiers in Acid Attack on BAIS Member Andrie Yunus

The TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom) has secured four individuals suspected of dousing Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras), Andrie Yunus, with acid. The four individuals are from the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) unit.

TNI Puspom Commander, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, stated that his side had received the handover of the four suspected perpetrators of the criminal act from the BAIS Denma Commander on Wednesday morning (18/3/2026). The four individuals are initialled Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES.

“So this morning I received, received from the TNI BAIS Denma Commander, four people suspected of carrying out the assault against brother Andrie Yunus,” he said during a press conference at TNI Headquarters on Wednesday.

According to him, all four individuals are members of the BAIS Denma. This means that the four are TNI members.

“So we convey that all four suspected perpetrators are members of the TNI BAIS Denma, so not from any unit, but from the TNI BAIS Denma,” he said.

It is known that the attack on Andrie Yunus took place on Jalan Salemba I, Central Jakarta, on Thursday night (12/3/2026). After the incident, the TNI claimed to have immediately conducted an internal investigation. As a result, the TNI was able to identify the four suspected perpetrators of the attack.

Yusri stated that the four individuals are now secured at Puspom TNI for further investigation at the investigation level. The four will be charged under Article 467 of the Criminal Code and Law No. 1 of 2023, with a penalty of 4 to 7 years.

“So now the four suspects have been secured, we have conducted examinations at Puspom TNI. Regarding the detention place, we will detain them at Pomdam Jaya. There is super maximum security detention, we will place them there,” he said.
