TNI Ready to Assist in Securing Tomorrow's Demonstration

The Head of the TNI Information Centre, Major General Muhammad Nas, has confirmed that the TNI is ready to be involved in securing a demonstration scheduled for Thursday (27/8). According to Nas, the primary responsibility for securing the situation during the demonstration lies with the National Police.

“Security is certainly the duty of the National Police; the TNI assists with reinforcement upon request,” said Nas.

When asked about the number of personnel ready to be deployed for securing the mass action, he did not provide specific details.

Meanwhile, the National Police have urged members of the public who wish to express their aspirations to exercise their right to free speech in public in an orderly, peaceful, and responsible manner.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that the police respect the right of every citizen to express their opinions in public.

“We respect the right of every citizen to express their opinions in public. We hope that the entire series of activities can take place peacefully, orderly, and conducively,” said Isir.
