TNI provides safe bridges for Serang residents at six strategic points

The construction of this infrastructure is a direct assistance programme from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto through the Army, supported by a central government budget of Rp340 million. The 0602/Serang Military District Command has delivered safe and proper bridge infrastructure for the community in Serang Regency, Banten, spread across six strategic points to facilitate daily mobility and boost the local economy. This concrete step was marked by the inauguration of the Beton Armco Hybrid structure Perintis Garuda Bridge in Teritih Hamlet, Ciagel Village, Kibin District, by 0602/Serang Military District Commander Colonel Arm Oke Kistiyanto and Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah on Friday. Colonel Arm Oke Kistiyanto explained that the bridge in Ciagel Village is part of a six-bridge development project in Serang Regency. Two bridges have been completed and are ready for use, located in Baros and Kibin Districts, while four other points in Padarincang and Kibin Districts are still under construction. He added that this special construction mechanism is much faster than regular budgeting, allowing the public to benefit from it sooner. Technically, the bridge, with a span of 12.8 metres and a width of 3 metres, is designed to be adaptive to irrigation channels so as not to obstruct the water flow beneath it. Meanwhile, Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah expressed high appreciation for the Army’s service in overcoming the daily transportation difficulties faced by residents, especially in Upper and Lower Teritih Hamlets. Zakiyah also called on all community members to foster a sense of ownership by actively maintaining the cleanliness of the riverbanks and caring for the bridge infrastructure to ensure a long service life. The provision of safe bridges at six strategic points is a tangible manifestation of the collaborative commitment between the central government, the military, and the regional government to accelerate the fulfilment of basic infrastructure that directly impacts the improvement of people’s welfare.
