The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is participating in providing briefing sessions in preparation for the departure or PK for recipients of scholarships from the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP). The TNI states that the event will be held this week. “Regarding that information, it is true that the TNI Air Force is facilitating the implementation of the Preparation for Departure (PK) programme organised by the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base on Monday, 4 May 2026, until Saturday, 9 May 2026,” said the Air Force Information Director, Marsma TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana, when contacted on Monday (4/5/2026). He explained that the programme is attended by LPDP scholarship recipients at the Master’s (S2) and Doctoral (S3) levels for studies in Indonesia and abroad. He stated that the programme is part of the briefing before entering the study period. “The materials provided focus on strengthening mental readiness, discipline, leadership, love for the homeland, and character formation, with speakers from various government agencies, including personnel from Halim Air Base requested to deliver according to the request,” he clarified. LPDP’s Statement on Involving TNI LPDP has also explained the target of involving the TNI in the preparation for departure of scholarship recipients. LPDP states that the departure preparation activity is not something new. “LPDP continuously organises Preparation for Departure (PK) as part of initial training for scholarship recipients before undertaking their studies. This PK activity has been carried out since the beginning of the LPDP scholarship programme and is an important part in ensuring the readiness of scholarship recipients, both academically and non-academically,” said the Head of the Law and Communication Division of LPDP, M Lukmanul Hakim, when contacted on Monday (4/5). He said that PK aims to equip scholarship recipients with character strengthening and national values. He hopes that the activity can enable the scholarship recipients or awardees to undertake their studies responsibly. “PK aims to equip scholarship recipients with character strengthening, national values, leadership, ethics, as well as mental and social readiness, so that awardees can undertake their study period optimally and responsibly as state scholarship recipients,” he stated.
