The Central Military Police Command of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) will prepare troops to escort the distribution of Red and White Village Cooperative vehicles across Indonesia. This escort plan was announced through the official Instagram account of Puspom TNI, @puspomtni, on Monday, 16 March 2026.

In the post, it was stated that the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Military Police TNI, Colonel CPM Joao Cesar Dacosta Corte Real, has agreed to deploy TNI personnel to escort the delivery of vehicles for the operational needs of Red and White Village Cooperatives to various regions.

“Through integrated coordination, Puspom TNI will carry out escort duties for the distribution of KDKMP vehicles to regions in accordance with the delivery plan. The implementation of this escort will also be carried out in intensive coordination with PT Agrinas Persero,” read the caption from Puspom TNI on Monday, 16 March 2026.

According to Puspom’s statement, this decision was conveyed by Joao during a technical coordination meeting regarding the planned implementation of the vehicle distribution for the cooperatives, along with security and escort support from TNI Military Police elements.

The meeting, held at Yodya Tower Building in East Jakarta on Monday, 16 March 2026, was attended by the Director of Procurement of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Major General TNI (Ret.) Elphis Rudy. PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara is a state-owned enterprise in the food sector tasked by President Prabowo Subianto to lead the operations of the Red and White Village Cooperatives.

Based on the same statement, Puspom stated that the cooperation between TNI and Agrinas Pangan Nusantara aims to ensure the readiness of all involved elements in the vehicle distribution process for the cooperatives. TNI’s involvement is also intended to ensure that the vehicle delivery runs orderly, safely, and on target according to the destination regions.

The government plans to import 105,000 pickup truck units from India, valued at an estimated Rp24.66 trillion. These vehicles will be used for the activities of the Red and White Village Cooperatives in 85,000 villages.

The procurement of these pickup trucks for the cooperatives had previously sparked controversy and criticism from various parties. Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, then called for the cancellation of the import of these 105,000 pickup trucks. However, the President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, stated that there are no plans to delay the import of the 105,000 pickup trucks at this time.

According to Joao, the availability of 4x4 pickup trucks is needed by farmers to transport agricultural produce to the market. He admitted that he initially questioned why the Red and White Kopdes needed vehicles.

“But after I tried to understand, it turns out that the President’s desire is how to connect farmers directly with consumers so that fair pricing can occur,” he said during a press conference at the Agrinas Pangan office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.
