A combined team of TNI and Polri forces raided the headquarters of an armed criminal group (KKB) led by Aibon Kogoya in Nabire Regency, Central Papua. Security forces seized 10 firearms, 561 ammunition rounds, and cash totalling approximately Rp 79.9 million during the operation.

“The combined TNI-Polri forces carried out law enforcement operations against a wanted person claiming to be Commander of Kodap III D Dulla Aibon Kogoya,” said Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, spokesperson of the Joint Task Force for Operation Damai Cartenz-2026, to journalists.

The raid took place in Nabire on Sunday, 1 March around 22.40 WIT. The combined forces from Habema Task Force, Rajawali Task Force, and Operation Damai Cartenz 2026 Task Force engaged in a firefight with the KKB before the armed group fled the headquarters.

“When the combined personnel approached the location, the armed group mounted resistance, resulting in a gunfight. After some time, the group fled, leaving behind several pieces of equipment and supplies at the headquarters,” Sutejo explained.

The combined forces then secured the KKB headquarters and recovered numerous items of evidence, including ammunition, firearms, handy talkies, cash, and a Bintang Kejora (Morning Star) flag.

“During the search at the location, forces secured 561 ammunition rounds of various calibres, suitable for both long-barrelled and short-barrelled weapons, as well as 10 magazines for SS1-type firearms and AK-101-type firearms,” he said.

“Additionally, 12 mobile phones and five handy talkie units were recovered, along with cash totalling Rp 79.9 million,” he added.
