TNI-Polri Ensure Readiness for Operation Ketupat 2026 Through Military Parade
Jakarta — The TNI and Polri, together with stakeholders, ensured the readiness of Operation Ketupat 2026, the security operation for the Lebaran exodus, through a military parade held at Monas Square in Central Jakarta on Thursday.
The parade was led directly by Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto.
The parade commenced with the presentation of operation ribbons to representatives from the Civil Order Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Department of Transportation, the Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas), and the Military Police (PM).
The event continued with remarks and directives from Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo and TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto.
In his remarks, Sigit stated that according to a survey by the Ministry of Transportation, the projected movement of people during Lebaran 2026 is expected to reach 143.9 million, representing a 1.75 per cent decrease of 2.5 million compared to the 2025 Lebaran, which reached 146.4 million.
Nevertheless, he requested personnel to anticipate a potential increase in movement, particularly given government policy stimulus aimed at providing comfort and convenience for citizens conducting the traditional exodus.
The Police Corps leader issued several instructions to personnel, ranging from anticipating potential security and public order disturbances to the risk of hydrometeorological disasters.
“The success of Operation Ketupat is our collective responsibility. Therefore, continue to strengthen solidarity and synergy in carrying out our duties,” he said.
Meanwhile, TNI Commander Agus stated that Operation Ketupat is a national agenda that must be supported by careful preparation through synergy with ministries and institutions.
He requested TNI-Polri personnel to understand their duties and responsibilities, maintain professionalism, and provide the best service to the community.
“Through synergy, collaboration, and good coordination, Operation Ketupat 2026 can be carried out optimally,” he said.
The parade continued with direct inspection of personnel and facilities and infrastructure involved in the operation.
The parade was themed “Military Parade for Centralised Police Operation Ketupat 2026 in Commemoration of Eid al-Fitr Celebrations 1447 Hijri”.
The parade was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Djamari A. Chaniago, Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantono, Jasa Raharja Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Awaluddin, and Jakarta’s Regional Leadership Coordinating Forum (Forkopimda).
