TNI Peacekeeping Mission Commander Visits Injured Soldiers Following Attack in Lebanon
The Commander of the TNI Peacekeeping Mission Centre, Major General TNI Iwan Bambang Setiawan, up to the Indonesian Ambassador to Lebanon, Dicky Komar, visited TNI soldiers injured due to an explosion attack. Three TNI soldiers, part of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), are currently undergoing treatment at Saint George Hospital, Beirut.
“In the activity, the TNI PMPP Commander was accompanied by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Lebanon, Dicky Komar, UNIFIL Seceast DCO Colonel Inf A. Juni Toa, and TNI PMPP Dirbinops Colonel Inf Untung Prayitno,” said Siska Widyawati from the National Information Office of the UN Information Centre in Indonesia in her statement on Sunday (5/4/2026).
She mentioned that there are three TNI soldiers being treated, namely First Lieutenant Inf Sulthan Wirdean Maulana, Private First Class Rico Pramudia, and Private First Class Deni Rianto. The visit is hoped to provide moral support and the state’s commitment to the safety of soldiers in the field.
“The presence reaffirms the state’s commitment, particularly the TNI leadership, to always be present and pay attention to soldiers serving in mission areas,” she said.
During the visit, Major General TNI Iwan committed that the state will provide maximum protection for every soldier. His side emphasised that the principle of maintaining world peace is also being vigorously pursued.
“TNI PMPP Commander Iwan stated that Indonesia is committed to continuing to provide protection to all personnel and to play an active role in supporting world peace maintenance efforts through the deployment of Garuda Troops,” said Siska.
It is known that three TNI soldiers, part of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), were injured again due to an explosion attack. Two of them suffered serious injuries.
“An explosion inside a UN facility near El Adeisse injured three peacekeepers, two of whom sustained serious injuries,” said UNIFIL Spokesperson Kandice Ardiel to reporters on Saturday (4/4/2026).
Kandice said the two soldiers had been evacuated to the hospital due to the explosion that occurred on Friday (3/4) afternoon. However, the source of the explosion is not yet known.
“Currently, they are being evacuated to the hospital. We do not yet know the origin of the explosion,” she said.
“We extend our best wishes for all the injured victims to recover fully and as soon as possible,” she added.
