TNI Commander-in-Chief General Agus Subiyanto has announced another round of senior officer mutations within the TNI. The position of Pangdam Jaya is now held by a three-star officer, or Lieutenant General.

In a mutation letter seen on Wednesday (11 March 2026), Major General Deddy Suryadi, currently serving as Pangdam Jaya, will be promoted to Lieutenant General. Changes also occurred in the position of Commander of the Joint Regional Defence Command (Pangkogabwilhan) III.

Major General Lucky Avianto, who previously served as Commander of Kodam XXIV/Mandala Trikora, has been appointed as Pangkogabwilhan III Commander. Lucky replaces Lieutenant General Bambang Trisnohadi, who has been appointed as Chief of the TNI Territorial Staff (Kaster). The position of Kaster TNI has resurfaced after being abolished within the TNI in 2001.

Major General Suhardi, who previously served as Assistant for Territorial Affairs to the TNI Commander-in-Chief, now holds the position of Deputy Chief of the TNI Territorial Staff (Wakaster) due to organisational restructuring.

Brigadier General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, Head of TNI Public Affairs (Kapuspen), confirmed the mutations. Aulia stated that mutations within the TNI are routine practice.

“I must emphasise that personnel mutations within the TNI are a normal occurrence as part of officer career development and organisational requirements,” Aulia told journalists on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

Aulia stated that the mutations are undertaken to ensure the TNI organisation remains adaptable. He stressed that the decision supports the implementation of TNI’s core duties.

“This step is also taken to ensure the TNI organisation remains adaptable to dynamic operational challenges. Each decision is made based on considerations to support the implementation of TNI’s core duties,” he said.
