The TNI Military Police have secured members of the TNI suspected of throwing acid on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus. A total of four TNI members have been secured. “This morning, I received from the TNI BAIS Command four individuals suspected of carrying out the assault on Mr Andrie Yunus,” said TNI Military Police Chief Major General Yusri Nuryanto during a press conference at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026). The four perpetrators are initialled NDP, SL, BWH, and ES. They are currently undergoing examination at the TNI Military Police. “These four suspected perpetrators have now been secured at the TNI Military Police for further investigation leading to prosecution,” said Yusri. The TNI is still probing the motive behind the acid attack carried out by the perpetrators on Andrie Yunus. The perpetrators have been designated as suspects. “The article applied to the four alleged perpetrators is currently Article 467 of the Criminal Code under Law No. 1 of 2023, specifically paragraphs 1 and 2, where the penalties are outlined, including up to 4 years and 7 years,” explained Yusri.
