The TNI Military Police are still keeping information tightly under wraps regarding developments in the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS.

Deputy Commander of Puspom TNI, First Marshal Bambang Suseno, did not answer a single question from the media regarding the handling of the case that implicates TNI Bais members.

Encountered after a press conference at Bhayangkara Field, National Police Headquarters, on Tuesday (7/4) afternoon, Bambang chose to directly enter his car and leave the location.

He only smiled and clasped his hands, including when asked about the crime scene reconstruction of the acid attack conducted by Puspom TNI on Friday (3/4).

Andrie Yunus became the victim of the acid attack in the central Jakarta area on Thursday (12/3) night.

KontraS Coordinator Dimas Bagus Arya stated that the incident occurred after Andrie Yunus attended a podcast event titled “Remilitarism and Judicial Review in Indonesia” at the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) office, around 23:00 WIB.

Metro Jaya Police opened an investigation into the acid attack case. After a series of investigations, on Wednesday (18/3), the police revealed two suspected perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie, namely BHC and MAK.

Almost simultaneously, TNI Headquarters stated that it had secured four of its members suspected of being the perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, namely NDP, SL, BHW, and ES.

The two suspects identified by Metro Jaya Police have different initials from those disclosed by Puspom TNI.

Both TNI and Polri did not disclose the motives of the perpetrators at that time.

Recently, Metro Jaya Police handed over the handling of the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus to Puspom TNI.

Head of Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, said that after receiving the report on the incident, his side immediately conducted an investigation.

From the investigation facts, Metro Jaya Police then handed over the case handling to Puspom TNI due to the involvement of TNI members. Iman stated that the police also found no involvement of civilians in the incident.

“From the results of the investigation, after we found facts from the investigation results, we can now report to the leadership that the issue has been handed over to Puspom TNI,” said Iman during a hearing with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives on Tuesday (31/3).

On the same day, TNI provided updates on the case. TNI stated that the four members involved in the case have been designated as suspects and have been detained at the military detention facility of Pomdam Jaya Guntur since 18 March 2026.

TNI’s Head of Information Centre (Kapuspen), Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, said the article applied to the suspects is the assault article.

He explained that on 19 March, Puspom TNI investigators had attempted to confirm and request a statement from Andrie, but the doctor had not permitted it due to health reasons.
