TNI Military Police Chief Writes to LPSK Head to Enable Examination of Andrie Yunus
JAKARTA - The Commander of the TNI Military Police Centre (Danpuspom) TNI, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, has sent a letter to the Head of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), Achmadi, requesting an examination of activist Andrie Yunus in connection with the acid attack case involving four TNI BAIS members.
This is because on 25 March 2026, the TNI Military Police Centre received a letter from the LPSK Head stating that Andrie Yunus is under LPSK protection.
“The Commander of the TNI Military Police Centre has sent a letter to the LPSK Head regarding a request to obtain information from the witness and victim, Mr AY,” said the TNI Chief of Information, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, in a press release on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
On this occasion, TNI Headquarters also released a series of developments in the investigation of the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus.
Aulia stated that the four perpetrators have been designated as suspects and have been detained at the Maximum Security military detention facility of the Jayakarta Military Command (Pomdam) Guntur since 18 March 2026.
“The article applied to the suspects is the assault article,” said Aulia.
“However, the doctor has not permitted it due to health reasons,” he emphasised.
The four TNI BAIS soldiers are suspected of being involved in the acid attack on the Deputy Coordinator of KontraS.
They are from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches of the TNI. Two of the four suspects are the executors of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.
However, the other two are still undergoing examination.
Nevertheless, the TNI Military Police Centre has not yet disclosed detailed roles, motives, or the full chronology of the attack.
The TNI Military Police Centre has assured that they are investigating the masterminds behind the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.
Most recently, the Head of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), Lieutenant General Yudi Abrimantyo, has resigned from his position following the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus.
