TNI Military Alert Level 1: TNI Navy Strengthens Security at Ports and Vital Infrastructure

The TNI Commander has declared a Level 1 military alert through telegram. Commander of the Naval Regional Command (Kodaeral) III Rear Admiral Uki Prasetia stated that his forces would implement heightened security measures in Jakarta waters.

According to him, the Level 1 TNI alert is not solely to anticipate the impact of escalating conflict in the Middle East. The TNI Navy will also ensure the security of passenger ship traffic during the Lebaran homecoming period.

“We will clearly conduct security intensification in certain locations, particular sectors that we have prioritised, and vital national objects,” he said at the Kodaeral III headquarters in North Jakarta on Monday (9 March).

He revealed that there were requests for heightened security from PT Pelindo and PT Pelni, particularly at ports.

According to reports, a TNI Commander Level 1 Alert telegram with the number TR/283/2026 has been circulated.

The contents of the TNI Commander’s Level 1 Alert telegram apply to all TNI units to anticipate escalation of conflict in the Middle East.

The TNI Main Operations Commander (Pangkotamaops) will place personnel and military equipment on standby and conduct patrols at strategic vital objects and economic centres including airports, seaports and river ports, railway stations and bus terminals, as well as state electricity offices.

Head of the Defence Ministry’s Information Centre (Kapuspen) Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah explained the TNI’s Level 1 alert. He stated that the TNI, according to its capabilities and strength, is required to remain operationally ready and prepared to anticipate international, regional, and national developments.
