TNI launches free mobile healthcare services for Central Papua residents

Personnel from the TNI’s Pos Kotis of the RI-PNG Border Guard Task Force Yonif 136/Tuah Sakti have launched a mobile health service, free of charge, for residents in Kampung Ukuneri, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua.

According to an official press release from TNI Headquarters, the initiative aims to make quality healthcare more accessible for the local community.

‘The presence of the Task Force should be felt by the community, not just in securing the border area but also through genuine care and service,’ said Task Force Commander Letkol Inf Yudi Satria Prabowo in the press release.

Satria added that the unit provides various health services including blood pressure checks, eye examinations, and medication distribution.

In addition to healthcare, Satria mentioned the Task Force also conducts health awareness campaigns for residents.

The service has been warmly received by locals, who expressed feeling supported and safer with the TNI’s presence.

‘The TNI officers came to check our health, listen to our concerns, and assist the community. We are very grateful,’ said Yopi, 48, a resident who received medical checks from the TNI personnel.

Yopi hopes the free healthcare programme continues so he and others do not have to travel far for medical facilities.
