The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has carried out the handover of the position of Head of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais). This is being done as a form of accountability from the TNI following the acid attack case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, which involved members of TNI’s Bais.

“So we need to state here that, as a form of accountability, the handover of the Kabais position has been carried out today. Thank you,” said TNI’s Head of Information Centre, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, to reporters at TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Aulia stated that today the TNI has held a meeting with the Ministry of Defence. In the meeting, Aulia said that the TNI and the Ministry of Defence discussed the internal revitalisation of the TNI.

In addition, Aulia mentioned that the meeting was in accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto. The meeting, he said, concluded that the TNI should take firm action against every soldier who commits violations.

“The Indonesian National Armed Forces reaffirm their commitment by taking firm action against every legal and disciplinary violation committed by TNI soldiers,” said Aulia.

Previously, the TNI Military Police Centre (Puspom) arrested four individuals suspected of being the perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. The four are known to be members of the Bais TNI Military Police Detachment from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches.

“We state that all four suspected perpetrators are members of the Bais TNI Military Police Detachment, not from any specific unit, but from the Bais TNI Military Police Detachment,” said TNI’s Puspom Commander, Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto, during a press conference at TNI Headquarters in Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

The TNI Military Police Centre addressed demands to release photos of the four TNI soldiers suspected in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. The Puspom TNI stated that the investigation into the case is still ongoing to date.

“I need to state that to date, the investigation process against the four personnel suspected of assaulting Mr AY is still underway,” said TNI’s Head of Information Centre, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, when confirmed, on Monday (23/3).

Aulia then asked the public to wait until the entire investigation process is complete.

“Please wait until the entire investigation process by the investigators from the TNI Puspom is fully carried out,” he said.
