TNI Headquarters holds Eid al-Adha prayer and animal sacrifice
TNI Headquarters held the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Adha prayer and animal sacrifice at Panglima Soedirman Mosque, TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday.
In an official press release received in Jakarta, it was stated that today’s Eid al-Adha prayer was attended by military personnel, TNI civil servants, and local residents around the TNI Headquarters.
Colonel Inf Mahfuri, the sermon speaker, said that the sacrifice is not merely a ritual but also carries messages of togetherness and compassion towards others.
“The sacrifice conveys a profound message about building unity and brotherhood among people; it is not just a symbolic act of worship, but a symbol of social concern, togetherness, and love for one another,” the speaker said during the sermon.
He added that these Islamic brotherhood values must be preserved to strengthen unity, compassion, and mutual assistance in society.
At the conclusion of the sermon, the speaker urged the congregation to use Eid al-Adha as an opportunity to strengthen kinship and maintain family ties.
Following the prayer, 20 cattle were sacrificed, donated by the Commander-in-Chief of the TNI, the National Police Chief, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, the TNI Chief of Staff, and other senior TNI officials.
