TNI Headquarters Evicts 12 Service Houses Occupied by Children of Deceased Retired Officers
TNI Headquarters evacuated service houses in the Slipi Complex, West Jakarta, some time ago. TNI’s Head of Public Relations, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, stated that the eviction targeted 12 houses occupied by children of deceased TNI retirees.
According to him, under the regulations, those children no longer have the right to occupy the service houses.
“Thus, in accordance with the regulations, they do not have the right to occupy the service houses. The 12 occupants of those service houses had also filed a lawsuit at the West Jakarta District Court, but the lawsuit was rejected up to the appeal stage,” Aulia said in a written statement on Tuesday (5/5).
He explained that the regulation of service houses was carried out based on the certificate of right to use number 362 of 1993 in the name of the Ministry of Defence, Minister of Defence Regulation (Permenhan) number 13 of 2018, and Commander-in-Chief Regulation (Perpang) number 48 of 2015 on the management of state houses within the TNI.
He stated that based on the existing documents and orderly administration of securing State-Owned Goods (BMN), occupants who are not entitled to occupy service houses must be regulated and vacated.
“Previously, three warning letters were issued, plus the opportunity to vacate independently before the evacuation was carried out by the TNI Headquarters Military Police,” he said.
Aulia also explained that before the regulation and evacuation, his side had taken various persuasive steps.
According to him, mediation was conducted on 16 April, and it was agreed by the occupants that they would vacate the service houses without conditions on 30 April.
“Thus, at the appointed time, the TNI Headquarters Military Police carried out the evacuation of the 12 service houses, so that in the future they can be occupied by active soldiers who are currently still struggling to obtain housing or renting outside,” he said.
Aulia stated that the regulation is part of TNI’s commitment to upholding the rules and maintaining orderly administration in managing State-Owned Goods (BMN).
“At the same time, it ensures that service houses are optimally utilised by entitled active personnel, so that their distribution is more on target and able to support the readiness and welfare of TNI Headquarters personnel in carrying out their duties,” he said.
