TNI Habema Operational Command Troops Provide Healthcare Services in Remote Papua
Troops under the TNI Habema Operational Command visited communities in remote Papua to provide healthcare services. This tangible act of care was carried out amid limited access to services and difficult terrain in Central Papua Province on Tuesday (5/5/2026). The simultaneous healthcare services were implemented in several regions of Papua, including Wangbe, Oksibil, Dugume, Quary Bawah, and Hitadipat. Those deployed came from medical teams of several battalions under the TNI Habema Koops, namely Yonif 732, Yonif 753, Yonif 613, Yonif 300, and the Territorial Task Force. The TNI medical teams visited villages and settlements in the interior forests. They directly provided healthcare services to the community, who have long struggled to access medical facilities. Territorial Task Force Commander Brigadier General Stefie Jantje Nuhujanan stated that the healthcare services are part of the TNI’s commitment to continue being present to help overcome the people’s difficulties in the assignment area. “The surrounding community is very enthusiastic about the presence of TNI troops in their area,” he said in a press release in Jakarta on Saturday (9/5/2026). Stefie was pleased that the community enthusiastically welcomed the TNI medical team’s presence to check their health conditions and the staff provided information on healthy living to the residents. “The healthcare services provided include general examinations, medical consultations, preventive actions, and health education for all communities in remote Papua,” he said.
