TNI Guards Jampidsus's Home, Citing Presidential Regulation No. 66

The Indonesian Military (TNI) has confirmed that dozens of its personnel are guarding the residence of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, stating the deployment was at the request of the Attorney General’s Office and in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 66 of 2025. Head of the TNI Information Centre, Brigadier General Muhammad Nas, denied that the security measure was related to a series of search operations conducted by the National Police at several locations. “Regarding the information about searches by the Police at several locations, that is a different process and falls under the authority of the Police,” he stated on Thursday, 9 July 2026. Nas explained that the security deployment had been coordinated according to prevailing mechanisms and regulations, specifically citing Presidential Regulation No. 66 of 2025 concerning the protection of prosecutors in carrying out their duties. Article 9 of the regulation outlines three forms of protection from the TNI, including protection for the prosecutorial institution, support and assistance from TNI personnel in escorting prosecutors during their duties, and other forms of protection based on strategic conditions and needs. Meanwhile, the National Police have been conducting searches at several locations in Jakarta and Sentul since the previous day, including the Cafe de’Clan Signature and Koin Money Changer in Cipete, South Jakarta. The Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police stated that the searches were related to the handling of several cases involving alleged corruption, money laundering, and bribery. Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Task Force seized gold bars, foreign currency, and cash worth approximately Rp 476 billion from a house in the Sentul area, Bogor Regency. The evidence found inside a locked safe included 74 kilograms of gold bullion, US$4,767,300, S$14,083,800, and Rp 100 million in cash.
