TNI Explains Security Presence at Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes' Residence

The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has clarified the reasons behind the tight security presence at the residence of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung), Febrie Adriansyah, located in Kramat Pela, South Jakarta. Head of the TNI Information Centre (Puspen), Brigadier General Muhammad Nas, stated that the security operation was carried out at the request of the prosecutor’s institution and coordinated according to applicable mechanisms and regulations. “Regarding the security of the Jampidsus, it is true that the security was carried out at the request of the prosecutor’s institution and has been coordinated according to applicable mechanisms and provisions, as per Presidential Regulation No. 66 of 2025 concerning the protection of prosecutors in carrying out their duties,” Brigadier General Nas said when contacted on Thursday. He stated that the security measures are not related to other issues, including the aftermath of a search operation conducted by the Metro Jaya Regional Police the previous day. He noted that such matters are not within the TNI’s authority. “The security is not related to other issues currently circulating. As for information regarding searches by the National Police at several locations, that is a different process and falls under the authority of the National Police,” he explained. On Wednesday evening, the residence of Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah was under tight guard by the TNI. The Attorney General’s Office has yet to provide an explanation regarding the reason for the security presence at the Jampidsus’ residence in South Jakarta.
