TNI Explains Alert Status Level 3 Currently in Effect
Jakarta — The Chief of Information at TNI Headquarters Brigadier General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah clarified the alert status level 3 currently being implemented by TNI units.
According to Aulia, alert status level 3 is a stage in which every unit ensures all combat operations remain in a state of readiness.
“I should clarify that alert status level 3 is part of TNI unit preparedness in maintaining operational readiness,” Aulia told ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.
Efforts to maintain this readiness are conducted through checking personnel readiness, certain TNI units, and main weapons systems.
“However, in its implementation, TNI personnel can still carry out official duties in their units as usual in accordance with their respective duties and responsibilities,” said Aulia.
Aulia did not explain the reasons for implementing alert status level 3, nor did he clarify how long this status would remain in effect.
Previously, the Chief of Army Information Service Brigadier General Donny Pramono stated that the Army is currently implementing alert status level 3 following the earlier implementation of alert status level 1 in accordance with a telegram from the TNI Commander.
The implementation of alert status level 3 is being conducted to strengthen force readiness to secure areas during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period.
“We are implementing alert status level 3 also because we will be conducting Eid al-Fitr activities,” said Donny when meeting media at Army Headquarters on Thursday, 12 March.
According to Donny, the Army’s implementation of alert status level 1 or 3 is not in response to any conflict situation or wave of warfare in any region.
From the outset, alert status level 1 was only to check the completeness of main weapons systems and the readiness of all personnel elements, which was carried out through a troop assembly held at Silang Monas in Central Jakarta on Saturday, 7 March.
After the alert status level 1 period ends, said Donny, the Army then deploys personnel to provide security during Eid al-Fitr.
“So the escalation is reduced to alert status level 3. This is how we prepare for the planned Eid al-Fitr activities,” explained Donny.
Donny continued that Army personnel have been deployed to guard several vital national facilities during the holy month of Ramadan.
Personnel have also been placed at several key public gathering points to ensure the homecoming season and Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday period proceeds in a conducive and safe manner.
