TNI Ensures Soldiers Injured in Lebanon Attack Receive Intensive Care

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen) at TNI Headquarters, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, has assured that three TNI soldiers injured in an attack in Lebanon are receiving intensive medical treatment in hospital. The three soldiers are Private First Class Rico Pramudia, Private First Class Bayu Prakoso, and Private First Class Arif Kurniawan. “Private First Class Rico Pramudia suffered severe injuries, while Private First Class Bayu Prakoso and Private First Class Arif Kurniawan sustained minor injuries and are currently receiving medical attention,” Aulia said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday. Aulia explained that they were injured after the Indonesian contingent’s assignment post in the town of Adshit al-Qusyar in southern Lebanon came under artillery attack on Sunday (29/3). Aulia continued that the two soldiers with minor injuries are being treated at UNIFIL Level I Hospital. “Meanwhile, the one soldier with severe injuries has been evacuated by helicopter to St. George’s Hospital in Beirut for further medical treatment,” Aulia said. In addition, one TNI soldier named Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon was declared killed in the attack. The process of repatriating Private First Class Farizal’s remains is currently underway with assistance from the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut. Aulia added that TNI Headquarters is still unable to provide detailed explanations regarding the cause and motive of the attack. He only assured that the incident would lead to increased vigilance in carrying out peacekeeping duties in Lebanon. “The incident occurred amid mutual artillery fire, and to date, it cannot be confirmed which party directly caused the event. The investigation process is still being conducted by UNIFIL,” he stated.
