The Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) headquarters will deploy a Hercules aircraft to the mainland of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which was struck by an earthquake of up to magnitude 7. The presence of the Hercules is expected to accelerate the distribution of aid and the mobilisation of personnel and logistics. In addition, the TNI is also deploying soldiers and Republic of Indonesia warships (KRI) to the earthquake-affected locations. The TNI continues to coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that the response is integrated and swift. “The TNI is deploying Hercules and KRI to assist in disaster management and support the needs of affected communities,” said TNI Head of Public Information Major General Muhammad Nas in a statement on Saturday (15/8/2026).
