TNI: Corporal Farizal's Body in Process of Repatriation to Indonesia

Jakarta - The Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen) at Headquarters, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, stated that the body of Corporal Farizal Rhomadhon, a TNI soldier who fell while carrying out a peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon, is currently in the administrative process for repatriation to Indonesia.

“The soldier who fell is currently laid to rest at the East Sector Headquarters (HQ) and is in the process of completing the repatriation administration to Indonesia, assisted by the Indonesian Embassy in Beirut,” said Aulia when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.

Aulia explained that Corporal Farizal was a personnel member of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) contingent in Company C of UNP 7-1, Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL.

He fell due to an artillery attack that struck the location of the Indonesian contingent in the city of Adshit al-Qusyar in southern Lebanon on Sunday (29/3).

Aulia continued that the artillery attack occurred due to the increasing intensity of conflict in the region.

Not only Farizal became a victim; three other TNI soldiers, namely Corporal Rico Pramudia, Corporal Bayu Prakoso, and Corporal Arif, also fell victim in the attack.

“Corporal Rico Pramudia suffered severe injuries, while Corporal Bayu Prakoso and Corporal Arif Kurniawan suffered minor injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment,” Aulia explained.

The three soldiers are currently in intensive care at the hospital. Until now, TNI is still awaiting the results of the UNIFIL investigation regarding this attack.

“The incident occurred amid mutual artillery exchanges, and until now, it cannot be confirmed which party directly caused the incident. The investigation process is still being carried out by UNIFIL,” said Aulia.
