TNI Confirms Security at Jampidsus Official's Home Follows Official Request and Regulations
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has confirmed that the security operation at the residence of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) was conducted following an official request from the Attorney General’s Office and has gone through the applicable mechanisms. The security was confirmed to be unrelated to other issues that have recently emerged in the public domain.
Head of the TNI Information Centre (Kapuspen), Brigadier General Muhammad Nas, stated that the security measures were a follow-up to a request from the Attorney General’s Office, coordinated in accordance with the provisions. “Regarding the security of the Jampidsus, it is true that the security was carried out at the request of the Attorney General’s Office and has been coordinated according to the applicable mechanisms and provisions, as per Presidential Regulation Number 66 of 2025 concerning the protection of prosecutors in carrying out their duties,” he said in a statement on Thursday (9/7).
He stressed that the presence of TNI personnel in the security operation was solely the execution of duties based on existing regulations. According to him, the measure is a form of protection for prosecutors while performing their duties and has no connection to other issues that are currently a matter of public attention. “The security is not related to other issues that are currently developing,” he asserted.
Muhammad Nas also responded to information regarding searches conducted by the National Police at several locations. He emphasised that the process is a separate matter and falls entirely under the authority of the police. “As for the information regarding searches by the National Police at several locations, this is a different process and is the authority of the National Police,” he concluded.
