Medan (ANTARA) - Kodim 0209/Labuhanbatu has completed the construction of two Armco bridges in North Labuhanbatu Regency (Labura), North Sumatra, to facilitate access for the community in the area following the disaster.

“The construction of the bridges facilitates residents’ mobility, distribution of agricultural products, as well as social and economic activities of the community,” said Kapendam I/Bukit Barisan Colonel Inf Asrul Kurniawan Harahap in Medan on Thursday.

He stated that the two completed Armco bridges are located in Kualuh Selatan Sub-district and Aek Natas, North Labuhanbatu Regency.

The construction of the two bridges, he said, has been 100 percent completed and functions as connectors between villages.

“The work was carried out by Kodim 0209/Labuhanbatu personnel together with the community, focused on completing the entire bridge construction until it can be optimally functioned as a means of connecting regions,” he said.

“The construction of the bridges demonstrates the spirit of mutual cooperation between the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) and the community in building beneficial infrastructure,” he stated.

He added that the collaboration between TNI personnel and the community embodies the unity of TNI with the people while delivering tangible benefits for connectivity and community welfare.

Asrul also mentioned that the local community has welcomed the bridge construction well, allowing access to return to normal and daily activities to run smoothly.

“We will continue to be present to assist local government and the community in accelerating infrastructure recovery as a form of service and unity of TNI with the people,” he said.
