Medan – Personnel from the Military Command (Kodim) 0208/Asahan together with technicians from the Engineer Battalion 1/DD have completed a modular bridge in Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, as an access route connecting villages in the area.

“The modular bridge serves as a connector between Sei Buah Keras Village and Durian Village in Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency,” said Colonel Infantry Asrul Kurniawan Harahap, Head of Information for the Bukit Barisan Military Command (Kodam I), in Medan on Tuesday.

Asrul stated that the presence of the bridge is expected to improve resident mobility whilst supporting social and economic activities in the area.

He further noted that the construction of the modular bridge represents a tangible expression of the TNI’s commitment to assisting communities in the region.

“Personnel carried out the assembly of the bridge structure and installation of reinforcing steel manually, prepared various supporting construction components, and ensured that the entire work process proceeded effectively in accordance with technical standards,” he said.

In addition to assembly and reinforcement, activities also included painting using a compressor, cleaning and arranging the area around the bridge, erecting tents, and installing the Red and White flag as a mark of the completion of construction.

“The modular bridge is now 100 per cent complete and ready for use by the community as access for local residents,” said the Kodam official.

He added that with the completion of the modular bridge construction, residents can resume their activities smoothly and inter-regional connectivity is further guaranteed.
