TNI Completes Construction of Bailey Bridge in North Aceh
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - Soldiers from the 4th Engineer Battalion (Yonzipur 4/Tanpa Kawandya) together with personnel from Military District Command (Kodim) 0103/North Aceh under the Iskandar Muda Military Regional Command have completed the construction of a bailey bridge in Gampong Alue Leuhob, Cot Girek Subdistrict, North Aceh Regency.
The Iskandar Muda Military Regional Command’s public information office said in a statement received in Banda Aceh on Sunday that the bailey bridge is a type 2-1 structure with a length of 30 meters, consisting of 10 sections. The bridge materials were provided by the Indonesian Ministry of Defense in the form of foreign-made modular construction units supplied in 2026.
The bridge construction is a strategic step in restoring public transportation access that was previously disrupted by flash floods and landslides.
The bridge serves as critical infrastructure as it connects a main road section linking three subdistricts — Baktiya, Langkahan, and Cot Girek — thereby improving residents’ mobility and logistics distribution in the area.
This achievement is tangible proof of the TNI’s commitment to assisting local governments and communities in accelerating post-disaster recovery and improving regional connectivity.
Village head (Keuchik) of Alue Leuhob, Adi Lestari, expressed appreciation and gratitude to the TNI and all parties who worked hard to build the bridge.
“This bridge represents the great hope of our community, who have long wished for proper and safe transportation access. We also call on residents to protect and maintain the bailey bridge so that it can serve us for a long time,” he said.
According to Adi Lestari, regular monitoring and maintenance are needed to ensure the bridge remains safe and can sustainably support the community’s needs.
“The presence of this bridge is expected to strengthen inter-regional connectivity, improve community welfare, and accelerate post-disaster recovery in North Aceh Regency,” Adi Lestari said.
