TNI completes connecting bridge between communities in Central Tapanuli
Medan (ANTARA) – The Natural Disaster Mitigation Task Force of Kodam I/Bukit Barisan (BB) has completed the Garuda Pioneer Bridge in Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, as a connecting link between communities in the region.
“The pioneer bridge connects Environment I, Bonalomban Village to Environment III, Tukka Village,” said Colonel Inf Asrul Kurniawan Harahap, Head of Information for Kodam I/BB, in Medan on Monday.
He stated that the pioneer bridge, measuring 50 metres in length and 1.2 metres in width, serves as a vital access point for local residents to facilitate mobility and daily activities.
Bridge construction was carried out in an integrated manner to accelerate the restoration of access facilities for residents following the natural disaster in the area.
“The completion of the bridge construction represents a tangible demonstration of the TNI’s presence in assisting the acceleration of infrastructure recovery needed by the community,” he said.
Through collaboration and mutual assistance between the disaster mitigation task force and local residents, he noted, the bridge can now be used again as a vital artery connecting community activities.
“We hope that the bridge will not only facilitate mobility, but also encourage the resumption of economic growth and social life for residents in the area,” he added.
The Natural Disaster Mitigation Task Force of Kodam I/Bukit Barisan continues to work at maximum capacity to accelerate the completion of post-disaster recovery work in the region.
