TNI Commander urges soldiers to enhance technological capabilities
The increasingly complex challenges currently facing the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) require every officer to possess strategic insight capable of adapting to technological developments.
Jakarta (ANTARA) — TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto has called on his personnel to improve their capabilities in the field of technology so that they can adapt to the changing times.
“The increasingly complex challenges facing the TNI today require every officer to have strategic insight capable of adapting to technological developments,” said Agus whilst delivering his remarks at the swearing-in ceremony of 734 Career Officer (PK) soldiers of the TNI for the 2026 military year at Prima Field, TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, as quoted from an official TNI Headquarters press release on Monday.
Agus said that the current development of primary weapons defence systems (alutsista) requires personnel to master the various intricacies of defence technology.
And not only in the field of weaponry. Agus believes that with strong knowledge in technology, personnel will find it easier to study the various non-conventional threats that could attack the nation.
He therefore asked these career officers to make their best contribution to the TNI in developing defence technology.
“For that reason, continue to improve your professionalism and quality of leadership, master technology, and continue to uphold the Sapta Marga, the Soldier’s Oath and the Eight Obligations of the TNI in every assignment,” he said.
On this occasion, Agus presented awards to the best male and female cadets from each service branch: from the Army, Second Lieutenant of Infantry Agus M.D. Simamora and Second Lieutenant of Finance Dita Listya Etania; from the Navy, Second Lieutenant Daffa Reyhan Gymnastiar and First Lieutenant Kunthi Tri Haryanti; and from the Air Force, Second Lieutenant of Supply Muhamad Bachrul Ferlyanto and Second Lieutenant of Health Service Vera Septiana Fardani.
