The Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander, General Agus Subiyanto, has urged the public not to be easily provoked by unverified information. He made this statement after attending a coordination meeting on strategic issues with the leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (10/8/2026). The meeting was also attended by the National Police Chief and was chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

General Agus stated that the meeting discussed various strategic issues. He appealed to the public to remain calm and not be easily provoked by the circulation of news on social media whose truth cannot be accounted for, which could cause public discomfort.

Furthermore, the TNI Commander asked the public to continue their daily activities as usual. He assured that the TNI would continue to conduct patrols in various regions to ensure public safety.

With the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, General Agus emphasised that the TNI is ready to secure the events. He noted that the TNI will deploy personnel and coordinate with the National Police to ensure that security operations are carried out collaboratively. He also addressed the massive circulation of unverified information related to the TNI, reiterating his call for the public not to be easily provoked by such news.
