TNI Commander Urges Kostrad to Be Ready for Combat Amid Global Conflict Threats

The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, has instructed officers and personnel of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad) to prepare for a global conflict that is growing increasingly tense. He said Kostrad must be ready to fight and win in every form of warfare. ‘In facing this multi-dimensional threat, I order that Kostrad must always be ready to fight and win in every spectrum of warfare,’ Agus said during a speech at Kostrad’s 65th anniversary ceremony at the Parade Ground of Kostrad Division I Headquarters, Depok, on Friday (6 March 2026), according to Antara. He stated that the characteristics of warfare have begun to evolve from relying mainly on physical attacks to the use of media warfare and cyber-attacks. He stressed that conventional and modern attacks must be anticipated as they potentially threaten national security. Agus continued that Kostrad is a striking force with a crucial role in defending Indonesia’s territory. He therefore asked Kostrad personnel to improve their combat capabilities and soldiers’ defence to anticipate attacks from all sides. ‘As the Commander of the TNI, I am confident and optimistic that Kostrad will continue to stand tall as the pride of the TNI and of all Indonesians,’ Agus said.
