TNI Commander Sends Off 744 Indonesian Peacekeeping Troops to Lebanon
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto led the departure ceremony for the Garuda Contingent (Konga Garuda) UNIFIL at the Prima Field of the TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Thursday 21 May. The UNIFIL Contingent (Konga UNIFIL) totals 744 personnel, consisting of 571 from the TNI Army (TNI AD), 79 from the TNI Navy (TNI AL), 63 from the TNI Air Force (TNI AU), and 31 from the TNI Headquarters. In his address, Agus stated that Indonesia’s participation in world peacekeeping missions is a sign of international trust in the professionalism of Indonesian service members. He asked that all soldiers safeguard Indonesia’s good name and the Garuda forces while on duty, to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), to remain vigilant for developing circumstances, and to maintain morale and health during the assignment.
