TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto has emphasised the importance of improving the quality of human resources within the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to face continuous developments in technology and the changing strategic environment.

Agus made these remarks ahead of the 81st TNI Anniversary celebrations, scheduled for 5 October 2026. According to him, the professionalism of soldiers must progress in tandem with the changing nature of modern warfare.

Agus stated that the vision for the 81st TNI Anniversary is “A Strong TNI Together with the People, a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia”.

This vision, Agus noted, is also part of the effort to drive the TNI towards greater professionalism through the promoted PRIMA mission, which stands for professional, responsive, integrative, modern, and adaptive.

He assessed that the ability to adapt is becoming increasingly vital as developments in the world of warfare are currently occurring very rapidly.

“I invite the younger generations, particularly young TNI officers, to become officers who are willing to change in terms of doctrine, training, and so on,” he said on Sunday, 20 September 2026.

According to Agus, these changes do not only concern the ability to utilise technology, but also how soldiers adjust their doctrines and training patterns to the developments in the strategic environment.

The peak of the 81st TNI Anniversary will take place at Monas Square, Central Jakarta, on 5 October 2026. President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to serve as the inspector of ceremonies for the commemoration.

A total of 51,000 personnel from various branches and corps of the TNI will participate in the ceremony. Following the ceremony, tens of thousands of soldiers will take part in a parade or defile before President Prabowo, alongside TNI officials and ministers.

Prior to the main anniversary event, the TNI also held the TNI Fair on 19-20 September 2026.

The event featured various agendas, ranging from exhibitions of main weaponry systems (alutsista) and sports competitions to social service and healthcare activities.

This series of activities is part of the 81st TNI Anniversary celebrations, which carry the spirit of strengthening the relationship between the TNI and the community while demonstrating the readiness and professionalism of the soldiers.
