Jakarta, VIVA – TNI Chief Agus Subiyanto personally led the handover and inauguration of several strategic positions within the Indonesian National Armed Forces. The event took place at the Gatot Soebroto Auditorium, TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, 25 March 2026.

During the ceremony, the TNI Chief was accompanied by the chiefs of staff of the respective branches: Maruli Simanjuntak, Muhammad Ali, and Mohamad Tonny Harjono. The presence of these branch leaders emphasised that the position rotation is not merely a formality, but an essential part of consolidating TNI’s overall strength.

This rotation encompasses several key positions, particularly in the Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih region and related units. The position of Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih, previously held by Major General TNI Amrin Ibrahim, has now been handed over to Major General TNI Febriel Buyung Sikumbang. Meanwhile, the position of Dankodaeral X has also seen a change from Major General TNI (Mar) Werijon to Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Sugianto.

Not only that, several regional command and operational unit positions have also been rotated. Among them, Danrem 173/PVB is now held by Brigadier General TNI Vivin Alvianto, while Danrem 172/PWY has been entrusted to Brigadier General TNI Robby Suryadi.

Changes have also occurred at the military district command level, including Dandim 1710/Mimika and Dandim 1716/Tolikara.

At the level of supporting units and military law enforcement, positions such as Dandenpom XVII/1 Nabire, Dandeninteldam XVII/Cen, and Dandenzibang 2/XVII Nabire have undergone refreshes. Meanwhile, in the naval and air branches, changes have taken place in positions such as Danlanal Nabire, Danpom Kodaeral X Koarmada RI, and Dansatgas Korps Pasukan Gerak Cepat (Korpasgat).

According to an official statement from the TNI Information Centre, this rotation and mutation of positions is part of the routine organisational and personnel development mechanism. This step also serves as a response to the dynamics of tasks and challenges in assignment areas that continue to evolve, particularly in strategic regions like Papua.

Through this process, TNI reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the professionalism of its personnel and enhancing institutional accountability. The consistent application of reward and punishment principles also forms the main foundation in every decision regarding personnel careers.

On the other hand, this rotation is expected to bring new energy to each unit, while ensuring the continuity of ongoing work programmes. Leadership changes are deemed important to keep the organisation’s rhythm adaptive to changing situations, both at the national and global levels. TNI is expected to become even more solid in carrying out its main duties, from safeguarding national sovereignty to supporting security stability in various regions of Indonesia.
