CIMAHI, KOMPAS.com - TNI Chief General Agus Subiyanto has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to guaranteeing all rights and the future of the families of soldiers who fell while carrying out duties as UN peacekeeping troops (UNIFIL) in Lebanon.
In addition to promotions, Agus ensured that financial and educational support for the heirs of all TNI soldiers in the Garuda Contingent Task Force who died in Lebanon will be provided to the maximum extent.
“The first thing to be given is an Extraordinary Promotion (KPLB) to all of them, and then other rights from Asabri (insurance), possibly Rp350 million, will be provided,” said Agus after paying respects at the home of one of the fallen TNI soldiers in Lebanon, Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, in Cimahi, West Java, on Wednesday.
From the family welfare perspective, Agus stated that the TNI will also provide full salary at 100 percent for the next 12 months, plus retirement savings calculated from the beginning of their military service.
Regarding the repatriation process, the TNI Chief said his side is intensively coordinating to bring the bodies back to the homeland.
“We will soon handle the return to Indonesia. It is being managed by the Commander of PMPP (Peacekeeping Mission Training Centre),” he said.
