TNI Chief Explains Repatriation of Martyred Soldiers from Lebanon
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI – TNI Chief General Agus Subiyanto stated that three TNI soldiers who fell during the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon will soon be repatriated to Indonesia. He has instructed the Commander of the TNI Peacekeeping Mission Maintenance Centre (PMPP), Brigadier General Iwan Bambang Setiawan, to accelerate the repatriation process.
The three TNI soldiers who perished in the incident are Praka Farizal Rhomadhon. He fell on Sunday (29/3/2026) around 20:44 Lebanon time during an attack at the headquarters of the Indobatt UNP 7-1 Peacekeeping Force in Achid Alqusayr village, Lebanon. Meanwhile, Kapten Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sertu Muhammad Nur Ichwan fell on Monday (30/3/2026).
The two soldiers died in an explosion incident while the Escort Team of Company B, Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL, which is part of the Sector East Mobile Reserve (SEMR), was escorting a convoy of the Combat Support Service Unit (CSSU) as part of duties to provide support from the Eastern Sector Headquarters UNIFIL United Nations Post (UNP) 7-2 to the Task Force Yonmek TNI Konga XXIII-S/UNIFIL headquarters at UNP 7-1.
“We will soon handle their repatriation to Indonesia. The repatriation will be managed by the PMPP Commander, and the PMPP Commander will send someone there,” said the TNI Chief after offering condolences at the home of the late Kapten Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar in Cimahi City, Wednesday (1/4/2026).
He stated that the three fallen soldiers will receive special death risk compensation (SRKK) from PT ASABRI amounting to Rp350 million, scholarships for their children of Rp30 million, their education will be supported until they grow up, 12 months’ full salary will be provided, and retirement benefits will be calculated from the start of their assignment.
They will also receive Extraordinary Rank Promotion (KPLB) or Posthumous Rank Promotion. This honour is given as a form of national appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice of soldiers who died in a peacekeeping mission. “We are giving KPLB to all of them,” said the TNI Chief.
The tragedy in the Middle East region also caused five other TNI soldiers to sustain injuries. They are Praka Rico Pramudia, Praka Bayu Prakoso, Praka Arif Kurniawan, Lettu Inf Sulthan Wirdean Maulana, and Praka Deni Rianto. The TNI Chief stated that the injured soldiers are receiving good care at a hospital in Lebanon.
“Their condition in the hospital is being well treated. We pray that all recover,” said General Agus.
He continued that the attack tragedy, which resulted in three TNI soldiers falling and five others injured, is undoubtedly sorrowful news for all Indonesian people.
“We in the TNI extend our deepest condolences. These are the best TNI soldiers carrying out a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon,” said General Agus.
