JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General TNI Donny Pramono affirmed that the implementation of alert level 1 by TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto was not a follow-up to any emergency situation in any region.

“This activity is not related to an emergency situation or a response to certain security conditions,” Donny said when met at the Army Headquarters (Mabesad) in Central Jakarta on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Donny stressed that alert level 1 represents internal readiness training and part of a routine procedure to maintain professionalism and the preparedness of military personnel.

He added that the TNI is currently preparing various important activities in the near future, including security measures ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Donny noted that alert level 1 status for TNI personnel is no longer currently being enforced.

According to him, alert level 1 is the highest readiness stage, indicating that all elements are prepared, ranging from personnel and equipment to major weapon systems and military hardware (alutsista).

“So it is a readiness stage. Not starting from level 3, no. Level 1 means we are fully prepared,” he added.

He gave an example of such readiness being demonstrated through the deployment of equipment and military hardware in activities around the Monas area some time ago.

It was previously reported that General Agus Subiyanto, as TNI Commander, issued an alert level 1 order for all ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces as a precautionary measure against developments in the global situation, particularly the escalation of conflict in the Middle East region.

The order was contained in the TNI Commander Telegram No. TR/283/2026, signed by the TNI Commander’s Operations Assistant, Lieutenant General Bobby Rinal Makmun on 1 March 2026.

The telegram stated that all TNI units must increase operational readiness in line with increasing dynamics of international conflict and its potential impact on the domestic security situation.

Alert level 1 status has been in effect since 1 March 2026 until a time yet to be determined.

Agus stated that alert level 1 in the military is a standard term.
